Dicapac: Water-resistant bag for ANY digicam

So what does Dicapac mean?

Dicapac = Digicam-in-a-pac

Im selling these babies for P2,300.00* and are on a per-order basis. Dicapac has 7 models

WP-100, WP-300, WP-310, WP-400, WP-500, WP-520, WP-700

Each Dicapac model only caters a specific range of digicam models, so before buying one click on this link and search for what Dicapac model is your digicam compatible to, an example would be that a Canon IXUS 65 will only be compatible to Dicapac WP-400, a Sony DSC-T50 WP-700, and so-on and so forth.

Disclaimer: I will test the Dicapac unit in front of the buyer to check for possible leaks and damages, if the item (DICAPAC) is proven to be defect-free then any defect on the camera borne out of the Dicapac usage will only mean that the user has incorrectly installed the Dicapac unit with their camera. And also, to be sure, read the manual and test it at home first before using it outdoors. Warranty is 3 months.

FAQs (updated 19-Mar-2007)

I will try to answer the usual questions here then time to time update this post with new questions along their corresponding answers.

Q: Are you a scammer?
A: Even if am one will i answer a resounding "yes???" (HAHAHA!) Kidding aside, I-am-not-a-scammer, i always do my transactions personally and give out my full name and contact details. The world is now crawling with spin-doctors and con-artists, but there are still honest and trustworthy entrepreneurs (like me, weeeeeeeeee!). You can also ask for my friendster account, telephone number, house address, and even office address if you want to "background-check" me.

Q: Why are your digicams priced insanely low?
A: No, my digicams arent priced insanely low, but the reality is that digicams found in malls are priced INSANELY HIGH! Mall prices usually becomes the benchmark aka "STANDARD PRICES" of digicams in the minds of people. Mall stores' prices are stacked with overhead costs from the following factors

1. Rent for space
2. Monthly bills for utitlities used
3. Profitability
4. Employees' salaries
5. Assumption of "DRY DAYS"

Q: Where do you get your cameras?
A: Let's just say that I HAVE LOTS OF CONTACTS from other countries...

Q: Are your digicams "ORIGINAL?" (Baka naman gawang tondo lang yan!?!?!)
A: My digicams are made with same materials that makes up the digicams that are sold from malls. These are all "original," and are guaranteed to be brand new.

Q: Why are the images of the cameras always have a newspaper beside it?
A: Simple. So i can show people that i do get the camera on the specified date, BUT people may think that im only "recycling" cameras by buying newspapers with different dates. Even though this is also a possibility I think i wont exert the effort to buy 20 different cams then "recycle" them. "Nalugi ako agad nun kung ganun!." You can try clicking on the image and zoom into the newpaper's date.

Q: Why do you take a pic of the person who just had a transaction with you holding the cam?
A: For "credibility purposes," I also "watermark" the images with my blog's URL and i assure them that these images will only be used on my website, nothing more, nothing less. And my supplier also requires me to do it (baka raw hindi ko binebenta eh :P).

Q: Ayaw ko pa rin maniwala! Ayoko pa rin makipagdeal/ bumili sa iyo!
A: I can't and won't force someone to buy from me. We live in a free world and i respect one's decision.

Q: What are your modes of payment?
A: I do not accept Credit Cards, checks, and swapping of any kind (even if you try to give me your whole stash of HUSTLER mags i will refuse it)... CASH ONLY. I demand an inital DP via bank account transfer to my BPI or Metrobank bank accounts. The DP values are as follows (these are non-refundable)

Sub P 10,001 cameras~ 2K Down Payment
P 10,001- P20,000 cameras~ 3.5K DP
P 20,001- onwards cameras~ 5.0K DP

Initially I will shoulder the balance of the client, and upon delivery "KALIWAAN NA LANG," I hand you the camera, you hand me the money. No full payment, no camera... I hope i made this clear. ^_^

Q: Where will you hand me the camera?
A: Depends on the location of the client. But i prefer Makati, Alabang, and some selected areas in Laguna only. Also, we will meet where there are people around, preferably in malls or fast food chains. Dark alleys and spooky caves are a no-no..

And dont try to mug me, i have people with me all the time...

Q: Where are your delivery areas?
A: Megamall, Makati, Alabang, San Pedro Laguna, any other areas not included here will automatically add an additional P100 for delivery cost.

Q: What are your freebies?
A: Canon cams = 512mb Ridata/ Transcend SD Card
Sony cams = 512mb Sony memory stick
Olympus cams = 512mb Olympus XD Card

plus LCD protector and lens cleaner

Q: Really? You're pulling my leg ryt?
A: No, Im not...

Q: Are these upgradeable into higher capacity ones?
A: Yup, just add 1K to upgrade your 512mb into 1Gb SDCARD/ MEMORY STICK, 2.5K for 2GB SDCARD/ MEMORY STICK.

Q: Do you sell DSLRs?
A: NO

Q: How about warranty? You have one right?
A: I give 9 months warranty to the digicam that you have bought from me with day 1 considered to be the day i hand to you the digicam. Units that will be proven defective under normal use or are factory borned are the ones that will be replaced/ repaired as stated in our laws. Warranty will not be honored on problems that were caused by mishandling, misuse, and tampering/ modification (both software and hardware), also, if the serial number of the camera is altered or removed in any way the warranty will be voided.

Q: No upgrading/ downgrading of unit?
A: Yup, no swapping/ downgrading

Q: Chicken or the egg?
A: Chicken...

Q: What are your "best sellers?"
A: Canon Powershot A430 because of its low cost and quality of images and features it offer. Also, S3 IS, for people with the budget.

Q: Delivery time?
A: Assuming that the unit that you are planning to purchase has available units from my supplier, i will be able to deliver the unit to you in 1-3 days' time after the inital DP.

Q: Do you have discounts for bulk orders?
A: Yes, but it depends on the following factors

1. Model of camera
2. Number of units
3. Supplier's "LAST SAY"

Q: Richard Gomez or Cesar Montano (for senator)?
A: *goes brain dead*

Megapixels with their (estimated) size in Megabytes

Wondering on how many images your memory card can hold using that X-mp'ed digital camera of yours? I too wondered not long ago, good thing i found an online megapixel calculator and i would like to share it with you people.

Below is the list of the common megapixel sizes of the cameras in the market today. I believe that these images are using normal/ default image quality settings.

3.9 Megapixels
Resolution: 2272 x 1704 (or 3,871,488) pixels
RAW format: 5.8 MB
JPG format: 1.2 Megabytes

5.0 Megapixels
Resolution: 2592 x 1944 (or 5,038,848) pixels
RAW format: 7.6 MB
JPG format: 1.4 MB

6.0 Megapixels
Resolution: 2816 x 2112 (or 5,947,392) pixels
RAW format: 8.9 MB
JPG format: 1.6 MB

7.1 Megapixels
Resolution: 3072 x 2304 (or 7,077,888) pixels
RAW format: 10.6 MB
JPG format: 1.8 MB

8.0 Megapixels
Resolution: 3264 x 2448 (or 7,990,272) pixels
RAW format: 12.0 MB
JPG format: 1.9 MB

10.0 Megapixels
Resolution: 3648 x 2736 (or 9,980,928) pixels
RAW format: 15.0 MB
JPG format: 2.2 MB

12.7 Megapixels
Resolution: 4368 x 2912 (or 12,719,616) pixels
RAW format: 19.1 MB
JPG format: 2.6 MB

When set to maximum quality the file size increases, to get the file size when set to max quality multiply the file sizes above by around 1.25-1.50 to get the ESTIMATED file size of the corresponding megapixel.

I hope this helps ^__^
